ABOUT
I’m Dani Wamer an Ohio based photographer, and I’m always down to travel any opportunity I get. When I’m not shooting or editing, you can probably find me at some sort of sporting event for one of my boys. My husband and I have been together for almost 10 years now and we have been blessed with 3 amazing boys, who definitely keep us on our toes! My family and I live in the countryside of Ohio where we have 11 acres and multiple farm animals. The best part about where we live is that it’s the same land that I grew up on. It’s been amazing to watch my boys grow up playing in the same fields and creeks that I did when I was their age.
I also have a studio space located in Byesville, Ohio. My husband and I renovated it a few years ago with the goal to bring it back to it’s art deco, 1920's charm. I shoot at my studio a lot especially newborns, family portraits, and when my clients request a more editorial look with the use of seamless paper backdrops. I also rent my studio out to other photographers and it’s been great to be able to provide a space locally to other creatives. I have so much fun switching up the sets and redecorating it.
I would describe my photography style as a perfect mix of lifestyle and documentary. I love telling a story visually while encapsulating the feel of that moment in time. I’m all about the big once in a lifetime moments, but I also put so much emphases on the raw, authentic in-between moments, too. Honestly, I feel that’s where the magic happens and brings the whole story to life. To some it may be just pictures, but to me these images are your family’s legacy, memories, and history in the making. And that, I do not take lightly. My editing style is also very complimentary to my photography style by keeping the images true tone and timeless. I want my clients to look back on their images and love them just as they did on that day and I want them to stand the test of time. I’m truly honored every time someone puts their trust into me to capture their milestone, small or big, I’m here for it all!. When I was a little girl I would roam our farm looking for arrowheads for my collection, I would hand sew my doll clothes using vintage scarves, and read classics like Little Women, Caddie Woodlawn, and Annie Oakley - all with strong women as the main characters I might point out. I was always using my imagination to daydream about the past and the people during those times. I guess you could say I loved and still love all things nostalgic. A vivid childhood memory of mine was seeing my grandfather with his film camera that he took everywhere, including the Korean War. He would show me his slides and I would hold on to every word when he would explain each image to me. I literally still see some of those slides in my head like it was yesterday. Maybe my love for photography started clear back then without me even realizing it. I, too, have always had a camera even if it was the cheapest point and shoot that I could get my hands on, but it wasn’t until just a few years ago, shortly after loosing my grandfather, that I bought my first ‘nice’ camera and started taking more meaningful pictures of my life. Since then I’ve upgraded multiple times, fell absolutely in love with the art of photography, and continue to push myself to better my craft. Photography allows me to make meaningful connections while visually telling a story and freezing moments in time. The little girl in me couldn’t be happier to continue to daydream, use my creativity, and my personal gifts to capture history and legacies in the making. My greatest hope is that I can provide images that become heirlooms.
